EPIX DIY Effects
EPIX DIY Effects is a behind-the-scenes “how they do it” bumper series on the EPIX movie channel. The show explores creating Hollywood-style practical and digital visual effets on a shoestring budget, and is themed around new movies airing on EPIX.
I handled the 3D, animation and compositing of episodes involving heavy digital effects, from causing a person to explode in a shower of computer-generated blood & gore to 3D bullets interacting with rod puppets in a slow-motion shootout based on one of the more memorable scenes from the cult sci-fi movie Dredd. The show continues to do well and new episodes are constantly in production.
